Milatović's Cabinet: The Tivat Summit is an opportunity to present Montenegro as a reliable European partner

The European Union (EU)-Western Balkans Summit, which will be held in Tivat, is not only an important political and diplomatic gathering, but also an opportunity to present Montenegro as a responsible host, a reliable European partner and a country capable of organizing events of the highest international level.

This was announced by the office of President Jakov Milatović, stating that there is great interest in the Summit, which will be held on Friday, from domestic, regional and international media.

"The summit, hosted by Milatović, will bring together European and regional leaders at the largest diplomatic event in contemporary Montenegro," the statement said.

It is stated that hosting the Summit is the result of diplomatic activities and proof that Montenegro is at the end of its European path and a guarantee of achieving the goal - the 28th member of the EU by 2028.

It is emphasized that the presence of a large number of media teams confirms the importance of the Summit, but also the increasing attention that the European and regional public is paying to Montenegro.

"That is why the Tivat Summit is not only an important political and diplomatic gathering, but also a strong opportunity to present our country as a responsible host, a reliable European partner and a state capable of organizing events of the highest international level," the statement says.

Milatović's office said that a special program prepared for media representatives will allow them, in addition to reporting on the political messages of the Summit, to experience the atmosphere of Tivat and Boka Bay firsthand.

"Numerous journalists, photojournalists and cameramen will have the opportunity to convey images from Montenegro of the Bay of Kotor, the Summit's ambience and a country that combines natural beauty, hospitality and a clear European perspective," Milatović's office stated.

They emphasized that the arrival of media from the country, the region, and Europe further confirms that the EU-Western Balkans Summit 2026 goes beyond the framework of a regular diplomatic event.

"This is a moment in which the messages from Tivat will also be messages about Montenegro, a country that brings Europe together and that is building its European future through results, stability and partnership," Milatović's office stressed.

As they said, in the year of the great jubilee, the EU-Western Balkans Summit further confirms Montenegro's place on the European map.

"On June 5, Tivat will be the center of European attention and a space from which a clear message is being sent: all of Europe in Montenegro, Montenegro in Europe," the statement said.
