The Preokret Movement will present tomorrow a model for preserving the functionality of Podgorica and preventing the introduction of compulsory administration, the political entity announced.

As announced, the model will be presented at a press conference tomorrow by Preokret president Srđan Perić.

The government crisis in Podgorica has deepened after the resignation of the current Speaker of the Capital City Assembly, Jelena Borovinić Bojović. The deadline for electing her successor is 30 days (given that the Assembly does not have a vice-president), and the opposition cannot reach the majority needed for that without the votes of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) or one of the ruling parties. The government does not rule out the possibility of introducing compulsory administration if a new Speaker of the Assembly is not elected.

Last night, Perić indicated in the Reflektor TV Vijesti show that he would take on the responsibility of leading the city council under certain conditions, which include, among other things, the stability of the functioning of the capital city, evaluations of the mayor's work reports, as well as all city enterprises, as well as the establishment of binding rules that would prevent party-based employment.

The majority parties agreed at a meeting on Saturday that the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) would nominate a candidate in agreement with its coalition partner, the DNP, which is no longer part of the government. The DNP says that the position of the Speaker of the Parliament belongs to them.

Mayor Saša Mujović previously announced to Reflektor that, in addition to the DNP candidate, the election of a Preokret or GP URA candidate for the President of the Capital City Assembly is possible as a solution to the political crisis in the Capital City.
