Democratic Party (DS) President Srđan Milivojević called on Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to resign after what he said was an unprecedented scandal in Tivat, where, according to him, a plane carrying people from the criminal milieu who were supposed to be engaged in its security arrived at the EU-Western Balkans Summit.
Milivojević said in a statement that the public can now see what Vučić, as he claims, has been doing for years at regional gatherings.
"He is not traveling as the president of the state, but as a mafia boss who takes with him paramilitary and parapolice structures, thugs and criminals from Ćaciland. This time, that practice has been stopped," Milivojević said.
The fact that the Montenegrin police prevented the entry of persons who, as Milivojević claims, are considered persons of interest for security reasons, shows, in his opinion, that Vučić has crossed every line and that his behavior can no longer be tolerated in the region.
"This is an outrageous humiliation of the Republic of Serbia and proof that Vučić has turned the state into a criminal organization, in which institutions are used as a front, and criminals as security for Aleksandar Vučić," the DSS president said in a press release.
He added that the actions of the Montenegrin authorities show why Montenegro is on the verge of membership in the European Union, while Serbia, as he said, has become the object of humiliation and ridicule in Europe.
"Due to this unprecedented scandal and unprecedented embarrassment for the Serbian state, Aleksandar Vučić must immediately resign from the position of President of Serbia and be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia," Milivojević concluded.
