Vučić arrived in Montenegro

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has arrived in Montenegro.

He landed at the airport in Tivat by plane.

Montenegrin media close to his regime reported that Vučić will address the media from Tivat at 18 p.m., but there has been no official announcement from his cabinet, nor is it known exactly where the press conference will be held.

Vučić confirmed earlier today that he will travel to Montenegro for the EU-Western Balkans Summit, emphasizing that it is important for him to go and represent Serbia despite warnings from the Security Intelligence Agency (BIA) not to go and that his life is in danger.

"I received the letter from the BIA, I read it. I did not talk about it with Antonio Košta. I am going there, it is very important for me to represent Serbia," Vučić said earlier today, answering questions from reporters after a meeting with European Council President Antonio Košta.

The BIA issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating that Vučić had been warned not to travel to Montenegro and that his life was in danger there, because the leader of the "Kavač clan", Radoje Zvicer, is allegedly in Montenegro.

This statement by the BIA was preceded by the decision of the Montenegrin authorities to return from Tivat about 90 Serbian citizens who arrived on an Air Serbia charter flight. Montenegrin police announced that they were found with banners saying "Serbia wins" and communication equipment. The media linked the individuals from this flight to last year's attacks on students.

The response of the Serbian authorities was to detain Montenegrin citizens at border crossings with Serbia and to ban certain persons from Montenegro from entering the country.
