Mandić: I am satisfied that Spajić and Milatović did not react to the return of Serbian citizens from Tivat

Commenting on yesterday's return from Tivat airport of 87 Serbian citizens, who, according to the Police Administration (UP) and the National Security Agency (ANB), posed a security risk, the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and the leader of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Andrija Mandić, said that he was satisfied that the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, did not react, because, as he said, harsh rhetoric can cause unforeseeable consequences.

Mandić said that he is not at all sorry that his party has no connection with the security sector.

"The President of Serbia announced, and I believe he is announcing this responsibly, that there were no such security-interested persons there, that it was organized by other people who wanted to meet him. I think we are going in the right direction because the entire situation is de-escalating. After that, our citizens had a problem entering Serbia. Harsh words can easily arise here," Mandić said in the show "Arguments" on Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG), the RTCG portal reports.

Mandić stressed that he was satisfied with the lack of reaction from the state leadership.

"I am glad that neither the Prime Minister, nor the President of the State, nor people from the security sector reacted after the decisions of the police and the ANB, because in situations like this, the most important thing is to calm things down as soon as possible. Because when you go with harsh rhetoric, you can cause unforeseeable consequences among people and countries," he said.

He said that anything that could complicate relations with Serbia should be avoided.

His opinion is that yesterday's events at the airport and today's at the borders cannot cast a shadow on the Tivat Summit.
