URA: Ubović's shameful attack on Abazović and a police officer, institutions to show if the state is stronger than crime

The civic movement URA announced tonight that it condemned "today's shameful attack on the party's leader Dritan Abazović and members of the Police Directorate in the Misdemeanor Court by Ranko Ubović, the owner of 'Bemaks', where Abazović was present as a witness in the proceedings initiated by the Police Directorate against Ubović."

The URA Border Police called on "institutions to show whether the state is stronger than organized crime."

"Everything that Mr. Abazović has said about Ubović for years has been confirmed by the competent state authorities and international security institutions. Today's case has confirmed that Ubović and those close to him can never forgive the interrupted chain of drug and tobacco smuggling, as well as the political monopoly that was destroyed on August 30," the GP URA statement said.

The party added that the institutions of the system, primarily the Police Directorate, the competent prosecutor's office and the National Security Agency, are on the move and that the coming period will show whether organized crime is stronger than the state and whether the state is ready to protect its dignity, but also all the people who are a thorn in the side of organized crime.

"Provocations and indecent behavior from the top of the criminal pyramid will not disrupt us on the path to building a state of the rule of law, a rich, happy and reconciled Montenegro, free from all the constraints of the past," said the URA Police Headquarters.

In the Minor Offences Court in Podgorica, an incident and almost a physical confrontation occurred today between former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and businessman Ranko Ubović, who headed towards the leader of the Civic Movement URA.

A more serious incident and physical confrontation were prevented by a police officer in charge of security at the court, who pushed Ubović away and then warned him about inappropriate behavior.

The Police Directorate announced earlier today that Ubović initiated the contact, and that no blows were exchanged.
