Ivanovic: Montenegrin services have exposed Vučić in front of Europe, the autocratic scalameria is falling apart

If Vučić and his services had relevant information about Zvicer's location, they would have rushed to share it with Europol, DEA and other partner services. Since they clearly don't have it, but are just speculating, they are making a circus around a serious topic in order to amuse their voters.

It's in an interview with Nova.rs said Željko Ivanović, a Montenegrin journalist and one of the founders of "Vijesti".

Commenting on everything that happened before, during and after the Serbian President's visit to Montenegro, Ivanovic assessed that "his anger is completely understandable."

"Montenegrin services exposed him to the public in the region and Europe, so it was expected that he returned from Tivat hungry and thirsty, barefoot and naked, and that he found salvation from European pasta and goose pate in Vojvodina's kulen and bacon," he pointed out.

A big storm arose ahead of Aleksandar Vučić's arrival in Tivat for the EU-Western Balkans Summit, when a group of around 90 men, including some with criminal records, were turned away from the airport. Do you believe Mr. Vučić when he says he had nothing to do with their arrival and knew nothing about it?

It must have been his younger brother Andrej, together with loyalists Ivan Montoja and Vladimir Mandić, who organized everything. I'm kidding, of course. This is for his brother, not for the aforementioned "black two". So, the fact that the President of Serbia came up with this answer only a day and a half after the scandal at the Tivat airport illustrates the increasing disintegration of the autocratic scalameria that he has been thoroughly building for a decade and a half. A few weeks ago, it took him two and a half days to publish the news about the mafia liquidation in Senjak and another day to come up with an answer or justification. This trend of the disintegration of a system based on corruption, crime and tons of lies will continue, the only question after Senjak and Tivat is what's next. Where will the čaciland of Vučić's private state land and spill out.

How do you comment on his entire speech, given that most of this address can be interpreted as a series of insults against the host country? The author's text in which he recently explained why he would not attend the celebration of Montenegro's Independence Day was in the same tone.

The anger of the Serbian President is quite understandable - after numerous similar operations, organized mostly in Serbia, but also outside its borders, not only in the region but also in Europe, he has now been caught, or rather broken into, for the first time. Montenegrin services have exposed him in front of the public of the region and Europe, so it is expected that he returned from Tivat hungry and thirsty, barefoot and naked, and that he found salvation from European pasta and goose pâté in Vojvodina's kulen and bacon. Again, a performance by Vučić that has already been seen, which once again showed why he has gone from being a stabilizer to a destabilizer of the region. And why Europeans, as he himself complained, perceive Serbia as the "little Russia" of the Balkans - and I would add, him personally as a regional Lukashenko.

After the aforementioned group of men was returned to Belgrade, the BIA and the top Serbian authorities, led by the Speaker of the Parliament Ana Brnabić, started a story about President Vučić's security being threatened in Montenegro, and his party colleagues appealed to him to cancel the trip. Radoje Zvicer was mentioned again. Do you have information that he is in Montenegro?

When information about the alleged location of one of the biggest fish in international crime, such as Zvicer, is reported by some Vučićević or some Brnabić, then it is folklore and a laughing stock for the local Serbian political scene. But when such news is publicly announced by the head of a state, then the partners in the EU wonder whether anything serious can be done with such a frivolous figure in terms of Serbia's EU integration. If Vučić and his services had relevant information about Zvicer's location, they would rush to share that information with Europol, DEA and other partner services. Since they obviously do not have it, but are just guessing, then they are making a circus around a serious topic in order to amuse their voters. The fact that this discredits Serbia in the EU and the West does not bother AV much.

Have Montenegrin officials and competent state bodies made any statements on this issue?

They are not. And it's clear why they are not. Because when some frustrated and infantile brat is constantly pestering you with all sorts of fabrications, the best way to respond to him is to ignore him. Because if you respond to him, you are giving him more importance and opening up space for him to draw you even deeper into his world of fantasies, evil and dark forces and enemies.

On the other hand, how do you comment on Vučić's statement that Serbia is better and more successful than Montenegro economically?

Recently, an acquaintance, an intellectual, a university professor, a native of Belgrade, told me - only those who have to stay here have stayed. The reason is at least economic. Billions and millions, highways, planes and trucks are for nothing, when you create a deeply divided, unfree, imprisoned and unhappy society. In which the truth is not what the facts say, but what little Đokica, that is, President Vučić, thinks up and creates. That's how it is with the "athletes" from Tivat, and with his economic tiger.

In the meantime, a new Franco-German non-paper has been published. How substantially could these proposals accelerate the entry of the entire Western Balkan region into the EU, and do you see any shortcomings in this plan?

I have not analyzed this document in detail, but if this plan is similar to what two regional leaders, prone to corruption, autocrats Vučić and Rama, requested in a joint letter to the EU and the public a few months ago, then it is a bad idea. Because it gives the autocrats what they are only interested in - European money, investments and economic connections, which helps them consolidate and maintain power. While not much care is taken about democratic standards and values. The Vučić-Rama plan would be a great gift to all the autocrats of the region and a great punishment for all the citizens of their countries. If this Franco-German plan is based on that - then I do not think it is a smart solution.

Finally, after the news was announced that Alpac Capital is buying media within ANN, what is the future of Vijesti?

Vijesti has been claiming from the beginning that the so-called ANN is a phantom creation for us that has neither legal nor editorial legitimacy. So as far as Vijesti is concerned, it turns out to be like the folk saying - the old woman dreamed what she liked. Or Vučić dreamed what he liked. Our partner has been United Media for five years, and if UM thinks of selling its share in Vijesti, it must first offer it to us, the existing co-owners. So we are waiting for that offer, not any Alpac or some similar Vučić proxy.
