The summit in Tivat positioned Montenegro at the center of European political discussions and brought it one of the highest international media visibility in recent years, the office of the President of Montenegro announced.
It is reported that more than 400 domestic, regional and international media representatives have been accredited to cover the European Union (EU) and Western Balkans Summit in Tivat.
As it is added, Reuters, Associated Press, Guardian, Euronews, Brussels Times and numerous other media outlets have reported on Montenegro as one of the central topics of European enlargement policy.
The statement states that Tivat and Montenegro have found themselves in the focus of leading world media in recent days thanks to the Summit, which brought together European and regional leaders and attracted the attention of the most influential international news agencies, television stations and daily newspapers.
"From Reuters and the Associated Press to the Guardian, Euronews and the Brussels Times, reports from Tivat have been published for days, while photos and videos from the Montenegrin coast have been circulating on media platforms across Europe and the world," the president's office said.
They stated that, through the Reuters and Associated Press networks, content from Montenegro was distributed to a large number of newsrooms around the world, which greatly increased the international visibility of the event.
"It is particularly significant that Montenegro appears in a large number of international reports as the central topic of the story about the upcoming EU enlargement," the statement says.
It is stated that, ahead of the Summit, Reuters published an extensive analysis of Montenegro as the most advanced candidate for EU membership, while numerous media outlets have labeled Montenegro as the country leading the European integration process in the region.
"International media reports particularly noted the role of Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović as the host of the Summit, which brought together the highest European officials and leaders of the region in Tivat," the statement said.
As stated by the President's Office, Milatović's messages about the European future of Montenegro and the Western Balkans have been carried in several foreign media outlets.
"This further highlights Montenegro's position as a country leading the European integration process in the region," the statement added.
It is stated that, in addition to political messages, international media attention has also brought significant promotion of Montenegro as a tourist destination.
Euronews, it is added, reported directly from Tivat, while Reuters, Associated Press and other international media outlets from Tivat published content that was then broadcast in numerous European and global newsrooms.
Milatović's office stated that the dominant topics were the European future of the region, the EU enlargement policy, and Montenegro's role in that process.
As they stated, the names of Montenegro and Tivat were featured in headlines, television reports, photographs and analyses of the most influential world media, making the Summit go beyond the framework of a one-day political event and become a strong international promotion of the country.
"At a time when international attention is difficult to attract and even more difficult to retain, the Tivat Summit positioned Montenegro at the center of European political discussions and brought it one of the highest international media visibility in recent years," the statement concludes.
