Aleksić: Spajić accepted the proposal that Lora's victims be compensated according to the principle applied in the Murina case

Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Budimir Aleksić said that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić accepted his proposal to resolve the issue of compensation for the families of victims of the Lora camp in Split in the same way as in the case of compensation for victims of the NATO bombing in Murina.

He was responding in parliament today to a question from New Serbian Democracy MP Dejan Đurović regarding the status of the initiative for compensation for the victims of the Lora camp and the model according to which that compensation should be implemented.

Aleksić said that Montenegro, as a country that aspires to be part of a developed democratic community, must find a way and have the strength to put an end to, as he put it, this injustice through a special legal act and a permanent settlement.

"I believe, and I have proposed to the Government, that this issue must be resolved in the same way, according to the same principle and in the same amount that was applied when it came to compensating the victims in Murina, whose members were killed by NATO bombs in 1999," Aleksić said.

Aleksić said that his proposal received the support of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.

"The Prime Minister accepted my proposal with the suggestion that an adequate model be found and a concrete procedure be formulated, which the Government would then definitely adopt and on the basis of which the proposal would be implemented, so that the families of the victims would be adequately compensated," said Aleksić.

According to him, intensive work is underway to find an appropriate solution, and concrete steps could follow soon.

Aleksić said he expects the proposed solution to contribute to the satisfaction of justice and the fulfillment of long-standing public expectations.
