MFA: 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence were celebrated in Gdansk

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced that the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence was celebrated in Gdansk, Poland.

"After the successfully held reception in Warsaw, the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence continued in northern Poland. Organized by the Consulate of Montenegro in Gdansk, headed by the Honorary Consul, and the Embassy of Montenegro in Warsaw, and in partnership with the company 'Luštica Development', a ceremonial reception was held in Gdansk on June 10," the MFA statement said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the ceremony was attended by around a hundred guests, including high-ranking officials of the Maritime Voivodeship, representatives of the city authorities of Gdańsk and Sopot, members of the honorary consuls' choir, as well as prominent representatives of the local business and cultural community.

"At the beginning, the attendees were addressed by the hosts of the event, Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Gdańsk Maciej Červinski and Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Poland Veljko Milonjić. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, the guests were greeted by the Acting Director General for Economic and Public Diplomacy Radovan Bogojević. On behalf of the host, the Maritime Voivodeship, the attendees were greeted by Vice Duke Emil Rojek. In a very affirmative tone, Vice Duke Rojek emphasized the exceptionally good air connectivity between Poland and Montenegro, as well as Montenegro's full commitment to the common values ​​that the two countries already share within the NATO alliance, and which they will soon share within the European Union," the MFA statement states.

During the ceremony, they added, the company "Luštica Development" successfully presented its prestigious project on the Luštica peninsula, which was met with an exceptional reception by Polish businessmen.

"The attendees expressed great interest in investment and tourism opportunities in Montenegro, and numerous potentials for further development of relations with the Maritime Voivodeship in a broader economic and cultural context were recognized. This event once again confirmed the strong friendship between Montenegro and Poland, opening the door to strengthening economic diplomacy and promoting Montenegrin potential," the statement concluded.
