Socialist People's Party (SNP) MP Bogdan Božović congratulated Vanja Ćalović on receiving the prestigious Italian "Giorgio Ambrosoli" award, which was presented to her for integrity, responsibility and dedication to protecting the rule of law.
This recognition, said Božović, represents a strong confirmation of the many years of uncompromising fight against corruption, injustice and captive institutions in Montenegro.
"Over the years, Vanja Ćalović has become a symbol of resistance to a regime, a voice of courage and conscience of a society that has remained silent in the face of injustice for too long. At a time when many chose silence, she chose the truth — despite pressure, attacks and attempts to discredit her. Her fight was not just a fight against abuses, but a fight for the dignity of the state, for citizens' trust in institutions and for a Montenegro of equal opportunities," he pointed out.
Božović added that this award therefore has special significance.
"...Because it confirms that courage, consistency and integrity leave a mark that goes beyond the borders of a single country. We wish her much more strength, perseverance and success in the fight for a more just society," he concluded.
