The initiative requesting the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly to adopt a Declaration on the Annulment of the Decision on the Recognition of Kosovo in the Territory of that Municipality should be submitted to the President of the Local Parliament, Jovana Tošić, in the coming days, TV Vijesti has learned from sources involved in the preparation of the proposal.
The initiative has been signed by 18 councilors so far, including all ten councilors of the New Serbian Democracy, two councilors of the Democratic People's Party, three out of four councilors of the Democrats, independent councilor Ratko Pejović, as well as two councilors of the Movement for Pljevlja.
The support of 18 councilors is sufficient to secure the majority needed to adopt the declaration in the local parliament, which has 34 councilors.
The initiative originated from the DNP councilors' club, and was supported by the parties that make up the local government in Pljevlja.
We remind you that after the launch of the initiative was announced, the president of the Municipal Board of the New Serbian Democracy, Milan Lekić, announced that the party would not support the proposal. However, a few days later, the NSD changed its position and joined the initiative, and all the party's councilors in the local parliament signed it.
