The support we receive from our French colleagues means a lot to us, especially now, when Montenegro is in the final phase of the EU integration process, said Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić.
He hosted a delegation from the Committee on European Affairs of the French Senate.
"Welcoming the guests, Mandić emphasized that the continuous support we have from our French colleagues means a lot to us, and that it is especially necessary and evident now, when Montenegro is in the final phase of the process of accession to the European Union. The Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the French Senate, Jean-François Rapin, emphasized that their country is closely monitoring all the results that Montenegro has achieved on its European path these days and that we have their full support to complete this work," the statement reads.
As they add, in this context, the role of the parliament and Mandić, who continuously maintains a positive environment necessary for communication and understanding between the parliamentary majority and the opposition on issues related to the closure of negotiation chapters, is particularly highlighted.
"In their conversation with President Mandić, members of the Committee on European Affairs, in addition to EU integration issues, were also interested in numerous bilateral issues between Montenegro and France, concerning the economy, energy, tourism, but also numerous other topics that are increasingly relevant among EU members," the statement concludes.
