If I were to go by the knowledge I have as a member of the Security and Defense Committee, Petar Koprivica would be my last address for conversation, said European Union MP Nikola Zirojević today.
He was reacting to a statement by the Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), Petar Koprivica, which stated, among other things, that "Zirojević always has a new dose of insults, spin and cheap political performance ready."
"I am not surprised that the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Koprivica, failed to conclude from my previous response what my wishes and goals are, regarding the summer season and fires in Montenegro. However, for something like that, one needs to have a slightly higher level of intelligence. I once again urge him - if he has any information about possible arson, to share it with the competent authorities immediately. That is something I would do in such a situation. I am equally not surprised that the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior finds it unusual that I, as an MP and member of the Committee on Security and Defense, informed the public about the letter I received, calling on the minister to comment on the above circumstances and allow the necessary investigation to be conducted. So, without automatic accusations, but with an invitation to establish the facts, and only then to discuss responsibility," Zirojević emphasized in a statement.
The European Union representative added that he was surprised "that State Secretary Koprivica is referring to 'a single document related to this person', thus trying, in a convoluted manner, to discredit Mr. Braunović, who retired completely orderly, without any proceedings that might have been taken against him, after 40 years of work."
"Of those 40, 3 years he spent in the mandate of Minister Šaranović and State Secretary Koprivica. The majority of it as mayor. Additionally, if I were to follow what State Secretary Koprivica suggests, he would be my last address for conversation - because I also had access to some documents related to people from his closest circle," said Zirojević.
He said that in the end, the most miserable of all was "the mention of a property that I had duly declared in my property file and which, for the information of the State Secretary Koprivica, was paid €2100/m2 from a 25-year loan, with a monthly installment that amounts to almost half of my salary."
"Without anyone treating me to anything, without me owing anyone anything. And no, it was not purchased from the Bemax company. Unlike State Secretary Koprivica and his party comrades who, in just 3 years in power, have seriously entered the construction industry, as well as some other businesses. And the most indicative thing, to which Koprivica did not respond - did the minister attack Zoran Braunović and is the Ministry of the Interior ready to provide the public with video footage taken from the cameras covering the said location?", stated Zirojević.
