The Parliament and Government of Montenegro will send delegations to Potočari on July 11, to mark the 31st anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, but they will not be as numerous as in previous years.
The Assembly told Vijesti that they will be represented in Potočari by a two-member delegation consisting of deputies from the Bosniak Party (BS). Kenana Strujić Harbić i Adel Omeragić.
The executive delegation will consist of ten representatives, including five ministers. The decision was made by the Government at yesterday's session, and the list of the delegation was published on its website.
The government delegation will be led by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Ervin Ibrahimovic (BS). The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue will also go to Potočari. Naida Nišić (Europe Now Movement - PES), Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography Damir Gutic (BS) and Minister of Regional Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations Ernad Suljević (BS), as well as the Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj (Albanian forum - AF).
The executive delegation will also include the Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of Montenegro in Sarajevo. Satka Hajdarpašić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration Naim Đokaj (AF), State Secretary at the Ministry of Regional Investment Development and Cooperation with NGOs Mirsada Bosniak (BS), Head of the Information Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Perko Mijatovic and independent advisor at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue Ali Cikic.
DPS and ES separate, Milatović will not go
From the office of the President of the State Jakov Milatović "Vijesti" was unofficially told that the head of state, due to previously undertaken obligations, will not go to Potočari this year.
The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will send representatives, but they will not be part of the parliamentary delegation. The party told Vijesti that their MPs will go to Srebrenica. Elvir Zvrko i Nela Savkovic Vukcevic.

Last year, eight ministers went to Potočari
The government delegation that went to Srebrenica last year included eight ministers and three state secretaries.
The parliamentary delegation was led last year by the Vice President Mirsad Nurković (BS), and it also included deputies Strujić Harbić, Edina Dešić (B.S.), Nadja Laković (PES), Tonci Janovic (PES) and Seid Hadzic (PES), as well as Haris Ramovic i Zijad Halilovic, Nurković's advisors.
The parliamentary delegation was largest in 2024, when it consisted of 13 MPs, led by the Vice President. Zdenka Popović (Democrats).
This was the first commemoration after the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted a resolution in late May 2024 declaring July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide. Montenegro also supported the resolution.
In addition to representatives of the Parliament, the celebration of July 11, 2024 was attended by advisors and associates of the President of the State, as well as a government delegation and representatives of several parties.
The then Prime Minister of Montenegro traveled to Potočari in 2023. Dritan Abazovic (URA) and former Minister of Internal Affairs Filip Adzic (HURRY).
Abazović also led the Montenegrin delegation in 2022, when the then Deputy Prime Minister J.Ivan Marovic, former and current Vice President Ibrahimović, former Minister of Justice Marko Kovač, former and current Minister of Public Administration Dukaj and former Minister of Culture and Media Masha Vlaović.
The former president of Montenegro was in Potočari in 2021 Milo Djukanovic, then Deputy Prime Minister Abazović and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović.
According to data from the Memorial Center in Potočari, in July 1995, forces of the Army of Republika Srpska killed more than 8.300 Bosniaks in Srebrenica and surrounding areas.
