Any attempt to deny, relativize or revise the genocide in Srebrenica represents an anti-civilizational act and a departure from the universal values ​​on which modern Europe is based, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) announced today.

The DPS statement states that the member of the Presidency and MP of the party, Elvir Zvrko, and the president of the DPS Women's Alliance and MP, Nela Savković Vukčević, attended today's commemoration at the Potočari Memorial Center, where they paid tribute to the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica.

"Their presence at the site of the greatest crime committed on European soil after World War II is an expression of respect for the victims and their families, but also a clear message that Srebrenica must not be forgotten and that such a crime must never be repeated to anyone. It is our duty to teach new generations historical facts and cultivate a culture of remembrance, in order to prevent the repetition of crimes and preserve the values ​​of peace, human dignity and mutual respect. Any attempt to deny, relativize or revise the genocide in Srebrenica represents an anti-civilizational act and a departure from the universal values ​​on which modern Europe is based," the statement emphasizes.

DPS said that they remain consistently committed to the policy of facing the past, respecting victims, protecting human rights, and building a society based on truth, justice, responsibility, and reconciliation.
