Spajić: We affirm that national strength and collective progress come from unity around the most important goals

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, sent a congratulatory message to citizens on the occasion of July 13th - Montenegro's Statehood Day, with the message that after eight and a half decades, we reaffirm that national strength and collective progress come from unity around the most important goals.

This was announced today by the Government of Montenegro.

"In crucial historical circumstances, Montenegro, united around its freedom, justice and human dignity, demonstrated national pride, maturity and responsibility. While many more numerous nations and larger states were preparing to respond to the challenges of war, our ancestors, encouraged by the achievements of 1878 and even before, were the first to offer resistance on July 13 and began a merciless struggle. Their amazing sacrifice confirmed the immense importance of the values ​​and principles they stood up for," Spajić's congratulatory message states.

He emphasized that he is particularly pleased when, despite all the differences that represent the attributes and wealth of a modern, democratic, civic state, we can state that we are striving together for one goal, and that Montenegro, regardless of the individualism and pluralism that democracy entails, has not only declaratively, but essentially, confirmed the consensus on a prosperous future.

"This is no longer just our wish and future goal, this is our reality, recognized and highly valued by our strategic partners and sincere friends," Spajić said.

He added that the latest initiative of the European Commission (EC) which officially adopted the European Union (EU) financial package for Montenegro, as well as the dominant responsible actions of citizens' representatives in the national legislative house, further speak in favor of this.

"With our actions, we prove that we understand the messages of the greatest dates of our past and hear the voices of the generation whose achievements in the fight for a prosperous, just and socially equal state, connected to the most advanced countries in Europe - we continue with dignity," concluded Spajić.
