Milatović on official visit to Egypt from July 19 to 21: "Important step forward in relations between the two countries"

The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, will pay an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt from July 19 to 21, his Public Relations Office announced.

As stated in the statement, the presidential-level visit represents an important step forward in relations between the two countries and an opportunity for the long-standing friendship to gain stronger political, economic and institutional content.

Milatović will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and representatives of the Egyptian business community.

"The focus of the talks will be on improving political dialogue, strengthening trade, attracting investments, better transport connections, as well as stronger cooperation between institutions and the economy. During the visit, several agreements and memorandums on further cooperation will be signed. Of particular importance will be the connection between the Port Authority of Montenegro and the Port Authority of Alexandria, which should open up space for stronger cooperation," the statement said.

As added by Milatović's Public Relations Office, Montenegro and Egypt this year mark 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

"This anniversary represents an opportunity to further strengthen traditional friendship with concrete projects, stronger economic cooperation and new development partnerships. Egypt is one of Montenegro's most important political and economic partners in North Africa and the Middle East. Its large market, strategic position and importance in the Mediterranean region provide space for stronger cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, transport, culture, science and education," the statement reads.

Cooperation in tourism, they add, is already bringing concrete results.

"Direct charter flights between Cairo and Podgorica have continued this summer, with growing interest from Egyptian tourists in Montenegro and new opportunities for improving tourist exchange. The delegation led by President Milatović will also include the Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Nikola Camaj, the Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović, as well as the Acting Director of the Port Authority Stanko Deretić, a member of the Board of Directors of the Port of Bar Nikola Vojvodić, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro Nina Drakić and the Acting Director of the Investment Agency Mirjana Kojić," the statement reads.

Milatović's Office emphasizes that his visit represents an important step towards translating the long-standing friendship between Montenegro and Egypt into new agreements, stronger business ties, and concrete benefits for the citizens and economies of the two countries.
