Gorčević: Montenegro's experience shows that reforms bring progress on the path to the EU

Montenegro's experience shows that a clear European commitment and consistent implementation of reforms can lead to concrete progress in the process of accession to the European Union (EU), said Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević.

Gorčević stated on the X network that she and the President of the Committee on Human Rights and Public Information of the Albanian Parliament, Jorida Tabaku, discussed the European path of Montenegro and Albania, reform processes, and opportunities for further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

She said she congratulated Albania on its recent progress in the EU accession process.

"Montenegro's experience shows that a clear European commitment and consistent implementation of reforms can lead to concrete progress and be an encouragement to other candidate countries," said Gorčević.

According to her, Montenegro and Albania are connected by good neighborly relations, a common European perspective and a willingness to contribute to the success of the EU enlargement policy through the exchange of experiences and mutual support.
