Gusinje, with its exceptional natural resources, cultural and historical heritage and harmony of diversity, is an example of an environment in which different identities respect and complement each other, said Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
Spajić said that on August 5, the Day of the Municipality of Gusinje, the memory of all those who, guided by the ideals of freedom, anti-fascism, universal values and human dignity, laid solid foundations for the development of that region with their deeds and made an immeasurable contribution to the construction of a modern and democratic Montenegro, is permanently preserved.
"By jointly caring for nature protection and development, improving communal, road and overall social infrastructure, as well as nurturing strong ties with our diaspora, whose devotion to their homeland obliges and encourages development, we are creating the prerequisites for achieving strategic development goals and building a prosperous future for all citizens," said Spajić.
He, as announced by the Government, recalled that Gusinje, with its exceptional natural resources, cultural and historical heritage and harmony of diversity, is an example of an environment in which different identities respect and complement each other.
"It is precisely this harmony of diversity that is one of the greatest values of Gusinje, but also of Montenegro, as a civic, multiethnic and European state, values that have been recognized through the country's European integration process," said Spajić.
According to him, the results are particularly encouraging, showing that the northern region of Montenegro is recording an increase in the number of guests this year and is increasingly participating in the country's overall tourism offer.
Spajić said that, in this context, one must always keep in mind the fact that characteristic developmental advantages deserve strong care and protection.
"It is precisely the more demanding reform laws, which we are adopting in accordance with the acquis communautaire of the European Union, that will help us preserve the natural treasures of Gusinje and the entire ecological state," said Spajić.
He added that he is convinced that Montenegro, despite all the ongoing regional and global challenges, has a prosperous and productive, European future of peace and prosperity ahead of it.
