Dajković: Meeting with Messerschmitt was not "touristy in nature"

The President of the Free Montenegro Party, Vladislav Dajković, said that it is not true that his meeting with the President of the Danish People's Party (DF), Morten Messerschmitt, in Copenhagen was "of a tourist nature", as the politician is now claiming, according to the Danish public media service.

However, Dajković said that he arranged the meeting with Messerschmitt informally, through a friend, while Slobodna Crna Gora announced three days ago that the two politicians held an official meeting.

That statement was removed from the party's Facebook page today, after the text was published on the Vijesti portal.

"I understand that my political activities in the past period have attracted a lot of attention in Montenegro, but also in the region. This only shows that we will undoubtedly be represented in the next convocation of the Montenegrin Parliament and Government. However, I did not really expect that I would become a star of the Danish media today. Namely, since this morning I have received over 50 calls from Danish journalists who want to know the nature of my meeting with Danish politician Morten Messerschmitt, with the main question: where did a 'pro-Russian' Serbian politician come from in the Danish Parliament? However, the story does not stop there. Even the Danish Minister of Defense has spoken out, as well as a number of ministers from the Danish Government, who even link my visit to Copenhagen with Vladimir Putin," Dajković announced.

He says the truth is quite different.

"I arranged the meeting with Messerschmitt in the Danish Parliament informally, through my friends, because I am truly delighted with his political program, which is in many ways similar to ours: opposition to the EU, protection of Danish culture, religion and tradition, along with strong opposition to uncontrolled immigration from the Middle East. Fortunately, I documented the meeting in Denmark with a video that I posted on social media, so it is not true that the meeting was 'touristy in nature'. The Danish Parliament is not exactly a zoo where tourists come to take photos, but the most serious state institution," Dajković pointed out.

He says that, along with "appropriate gifts - the Montenegrin tricolor and the icon of Saint George" - he presented Messerschmitt with his political work, but also "the situation in our region".

"Of course, we do not share the same views on foreign policy, and therefore we did not discuss Russia, and especially not Putin. However, this meeting was valuable because I had the opportunity to hear firsthand how a young Danish conservative politician thinks. In the end, no matter how much the Montenegrin media tries to ignore and censor me, and the Montenegrin police and secret service (ANB) try to discredit me on the orders of the Government, the activities of Free Montenegro, including my personal actions, push the boundaries and go beyond the framework of our state. We are sincerely fighting for true Serbian integralism and a free society, and not for positions in an anti-Serbian Government. Let me conclude in a humorous tone: See you next year in Copenhagen," the statement reads.
