Behind the initiative to remove the church in Rumija is neither law, nor urban planning, nor public interest, but the well-known ideology of those who throughout history have demolished churches and monasteries, stolen sacred objects, arrested metropolitans, and persecuted monasticism and clergy.

This is the assessment of Valentina Minić, a member of the Democratic Party and a councilor in the Bar Municipal Assembly.

She said that it is, to say the least, malicious to invoke "law and order" in a city that lives in multi-religious harmony.

"On that same Rumija — for centuries, both before and after 2005, on Trinity Day, the cross of St. John Vladimir has been carried out together, with the same sense of faith and respect. Those who have always been bothered by every measure of peace and freedom, and even the richness of our differences, still see it today as an opportunity to quarrel brother with brother, neighbor with neighbor. Bar has always been the home of all of us, and the intentions of those who do not know how to build, but only to destroy, will remain this time only a failed attempt to bring unrest in the face of which we will stand Bar-like - and that means upright, united and proud," said Minić in a press release.

The Democratic MP said that everyone knows whose handwriting this is and told the representatives of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) to stop hiding.

"Rumija is not a place for your destructive games. At least it will remain the home of all of us. Rumija will remain a symbol of memory, faith and respect. And those who think that politics is built by destruction should know that there will always be people standing before them who know how to protect what is sacred, human and common," concludes Minić.
