NSD announces comprehensive dialogue on the Declaration on Reconciliation and Unity

The New Serbian Democracy (NSD) will begin a comprehensive dialogue with coalition partners on September 1st on the Declaration on Reconciliation and Unity in European Montenegro, announced party official Jelena Milošević.

She pointed to the great media attention that NSD's proactive policy of political reconciliation and unity has received, adding that this is the best indicator that they are moving in the right direction.

"Our next step is to begin a comprehensive dialogue with coalition partners, as well as all other interested political actors, as of September 1st, so that this Declaration can be the cornerstone of political life in Montenegro," said Milošević.

She pointed out that the NSD wants this text to be a joint work of all those who want to be part of this great agreement.

"We will try to ensure that it takes place in a spirit of harmony and a positive atmosphere," Milošević said.

As she added, the NSD does not claim, as some would impute to them, that the citizens of Montenegro are at odds with each other.

"On the contrary, we believe that citizens are often far ahead of politics and that after the historic changes of 2020, they were the first to begin the process of forgiveness and reconciliation, both among their families and among neighbors and friends. That is precisely why we want politics to emerge from the trenches it has been in for too long," Milošević emphasized.

She said that the greatest victory of this generation will not be that one side finally triumphs over the other, but that their children no longer need to fight their old battles.

"Let's not bequeath them the former political trenches. Let's build a stable, free, happy and European Montenegro - a state in which no one apologizes for what it is and in which everyone's national feelings will be respected in the right way, and I am especially thinking of our Serbian people," said Milošević.

As she said, the equality of Serbs does not diminish the rights of Montenegrins, Bosniaks, Albanians or Croats.

"Rights are not taken away, they belong to everyone equally, and in a reconciled and united Montenegro, there is enough room for everyone," Milošević concluded.
