Ćulafić: We are not anyone's political grandchildren

Member of the Presidency of Democratic Montenegro Damjan Ćulafić said that the party is not "anyone's political grandson".

Former Defense Minister Predrag Bošković said that Slobodan Milošević was the "political father" of the Democrats.

"Mr. Bošković, we are not anyone's political grandchildren. But your DPS is Vojislav Šešelj's authentic political offspring from the first half of the nineties. Your political fathers did not watch Šešelj on television, but were his allies and congratulated him on his freedom, and they did all this because they knew that he could say something that he recorded during that alliance. But there is something much more unpleasant for Predrag Bošković than political genealogy. That is criminal genealogy," said Ćulafić.

He added that, according to the indictment of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, Bošković is among the members of a criminal organization organized by Aleksandar Mijajlović.

"So, don't draw us family trees. First, explain to the citizens how you ended up on indictment from the top of the state together with a man with whom you exchanged messages about the media, political opponents, metropolitans, fathers and mothers, and published the most disgusting texts typical of the most vile political ruminants from the region. And that is precisely why it is especially incredible to listen to moral lessons from a man who presented his closeness to Mijajlović, the organizer of two criminal organizations and a member of the third OKG, as friendship."

Ćulafić asked Bošković "what kind of friend is that?"

"A friend to whom you send information? A friend with whom you talk about abominations, setups, money, apartments and serious crimes? A friend whom the SDT designates as the organizer of a criminal organization, and you as its member? Because when you publicly present someone as a friend, and the prosecution then places you on the same indictment for criminal association, then it would be much smarter to explain the nature of that friendship to citizens than to invent grandfathers for the Democrats," said Ćulafić.

He adds that the party will not claim that the DPS is legally the "father" of the Kavački and Škaljar clans.

"There are courts and prosecutors' offices for paternity. But we will remind you of a fact that you cannot escape. Both the Kavački and Škaljar clans were born, grew up and waged their bloody war while the DPS absolutely controlled the state. They emerged under your rule. They strengthened under your rule. Under your rule, their people entered the police and security sector. Under your rule, 719 people were killed on the streets of Montenegro and the region and billions of euros were robbed. And now the political structure that has held the police, the ANB, the Government and all the levers of power for three decades is asking others who their political ancestors are? Gentlemen from the DPS, if you insist on family metaphors, first do a DNA analysis of your own political genesis," said Ćulafić.

He added that he would find "much more interesting vines" there.

"Šešelj's policies from the 1990s. The state in which the Kavački and Škaljar clans were created. And today, the SDT indictment in which Predrag Bošković sits together with a suspected serious criminal whom he considers a friend. Therefore, Predrag Bošković, be more careful with fathers and grandchildren in the future. You have a much more difficult problem, which is that the present forces you to explain your own political and criminal society every day. And we will continue to explain it. Name by name. Message by message. Decision by decision. And then we will show the public who you introduced into the system of the Army of Montenegro, how and under what circumstances. So in the end, we will see whose problem is the 'grandchildren', and whose much bigger problem will be what he himself left behind," said Ćulafić.
