With the testimony of human genetics expert Svetlana Đukić, the trial of Danilo Jovanović and the brothers Zdravko and Zoran Radulović, accused of the murder of Zoran Boljević in the bar "Laganina" in May 2016, continued today in the High Court in Podgorica.
Human genetics expert Svetlana Đukić told the panel presided over by judge Predrag Tabaš, among other things, that the subject of the expert opinion was the "red flag" pistol M 70, caliber 7,65 millimeters, which belonged to the now deceased Boljević. She stated that there is a strong hypothesis that there is a biological trace of DNA on the gun originating from the defendant Zdravko Radulović.
This gun was found on the spot wrapped in Zoran Boljević's T-shirt.
"I took two samples from the pistol "red flag" model M 70, caliber 7,65 millimeters, which belonged to the now deceased Boljević. There are biological traces of at least three people on the gun, and the dominant donor is Zdravko Radulović. He is four times more likely to be a donor than the other two people. Biological material was also found from Zoran Boljević, but I did not identify the third person. The largest amount of DNA biological material on this gun belongs to Zdravko Radulović. I would like to clarify that since Zdravko R. was bleeding, my assumption is that it is the presence of his blood on the gun. Although it has not been confirmed, the possibility of the presence of his blood cannot be ruled out, and I assume so. It has not been determined whether this DNA came from contact or bodily fluid. I can say exactly that the largest amount of his biological material. The preliminary "hemastics" test gave a positive result, which indicates the presence of blood. The hexagon test for determining human blood, a negative result was obtained and such a result can be obtained due to a small amount, so the conclusion is that the presence of blood cannot be ruled out. The DNA biological material of Zdravko Radulović was found on the cover, grip, striker and trigger of the gun. When I was taking a swab from the gun, it was so that the biological material could be transferred from one part to another part of the gun. Another sample of biological material from the gun barrel showed the presence of two people, and the dominant DNA trace is Zdravko Radulović. This biological material is extremely strongly hypothesized to come from his blood. I assume that it could be the blood of Zdravko R. I leave the possibility that his biological material was transferred to other parts of the gun," said human genetics expert Svetlana Đukić.
Answering the question of Suzana Milić, the state prosecutor in the higher prosecutor's office in Podgorica, the expert said that she can give an opinion that the material of the accused Zdravko R. is undoubtedly biological, if there is no identical twin. Answering the question of the defense lawyer Zdravko Begović, the expert allowed the possibility that the biological material of the accused is from skin epithelial cells.
Attorney Begović had no objections to the human genetics expert's report, adding that it coincides with the defense of Zdravko R.
"He was in shock and in his defense before the court he said that he was afraid to risk his life and that of his brother Zoran." The accused Zdravko R said that trying to save his life and that of his brother, he tried to take away the gun that was with the now deceased Zoran Boljević. Therefore, he was trying to take the gun from him and this expert opinion is in agreement with the defense," believes lawyer Begović.
Lawyer Vladislav Anđelić, representative of the Boljević family, objected to the findings due to the way DNA samples were taken for analysis. He believes that the expert wiped them and took only one sample with a stick, thus contaminating them.
Expert Svetlana Đukić added that she did as requested by the prosecutor's order to take clues.
"There was no clear order to take a sample separately from each part of the gun. There is no possibility of contamination in the laboratory," answered the human genetics expert. According to the indictment, Danilo Jovanović (64) and his cousins Zdravko (33) and Zoran Radulović (37) committed the criminal offense of "aggravated murder" and that on May 25, 2016, around 14 p.m., during reckless violent behavior, with they killed Zoran Boljević on purpose. The indictment presented that on a critical occasion, Zoran Radulović approached Boljević, greeted him and then, unprovoked, hit him in the face with a glass, causing him bodily injury, after which he allegedly continued to hit him on the head and body with his fists, in which his brother Zdravko joined him. By perpetrating violence in front of the employees and guests of the bar, there was a disturbance of public order and peace, "whereby all the time they showed marked rudeness, insolence and recklessness in physical violence against the victim and in overcoming the resistance he offered to them while he tried to defend himself from the attack and of violence". They managed to overpower him and push him to the floor, and then they held him like that, pressing his body to the floor and making it impossible for him to defend himself, "in what way did they enable the defendant Jovanović Danilo to realize their joint decision to deprive the victim of his life, that is, in the direction of his body fired three bullets, one of which hit him in the head," the indictment reads.

Chemical expert Ljudmila Ivanović said that her conclusion that there were no gunpowder particles found on the T-shirt of the deceased Zoran Boljević was that it was damaged in the area, and that she concluded that he was hit by a shot from a firearm from a distance of more than 90 centimeters.
