The Europe Now Movement (PES) announced tonight that it will not support the removal of Andrija Mandić from the position of President of the Parliament of Montenegro.
"We will not support the dismissal of Mandić. The Europe Now movement was created with the desire to provide our citizens with economic progress and a European future. We believe it is crystal clear that we will not vote for our ugly past to ruin our bright future," the PES statement, headed by the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić, said.
PES added that they leave war rhetoric to those political structures for which it is the only tool.
"And we have already spoken out on this issue and for us, respect for international rulings is something that goes without saying. We are choosing the future," the PES statement reads.
The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will send an initiative to all parliamentary groups and independent MPs to remove Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić due to his expression of condolences over the death of Ratko Mladić, the general convicted of genocide in Srebrenica, party leader Danijel Živković said the day before yesterday.
The day before yesterday, at a press conference in the Parliament of Montenegro, he said that with this act, Mandić crossed a line "after which one cannot close one's eyes."
