DNP "scolds" NSD: We will not vote to dismiss Mandić, even though they dismissed ours and took their positions

"Regardless of the outcome of this initiative, it is clear to everyone in Montenegro that the parliamentary majority no longer exists, that its integrity has been completely destroyed, and that the Government of Milojko Spajić is functioning on armchair infusions"

The Democratic People's Party (DNP) announced that it will not support the initiative of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) to remove the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and the leader of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Andrija Mandić.

The DNP "scolded" the NSD, stating that they would not be like their previous coalition partners.

"Unlike our staff who were promptly dismissed with their consent and the NSD who took their positions, the DNP will not vote for Mandić's dismissal, although a simple calculation shows that our votes may determine whether he will continue to be the Speaker of the Parliament," the statement reads.

The DNP also stated that despite being in opposition for seven months, they have never, nor will they, support any initiatives initiated by the DPS and its coalition partners.

"We remind the public that we did not support the previous two initiatives to remove Andrija Mandić, which were submitted by DPS and the European Union. We must also remind the public that the current coalition partners of the NSD from the Bosniak Party voted for Mandić's removal, which they will do this time as well. The same is the case with a number of PES MPs who voted for the removal of the Speaker of the Parliament each time. Therefore, it is not surprising that PES, as a strategic partner of the NSD, has a very flexible position on the initiative to remove the Speaker of the Parliament. To make the paradox complete, all of them will vote for constitutional changes today under the watchful eye of Johan Satler, thus further devaluing the parliamentary and political life of Montenegro. Ten days ago, representatives of the parliamentary majority refused to sign the DNP Interpellation on the work of Minister Ervin Ibrahimović; unfortunately, our previous coalition partners at the state level from the NSD were among them," the DNP announced.

They added that they supported the Interpellation at the time, so that they would not find themselves in a situation "where we are not allowed to publish any position on social networks that contradicts the opinions of Ervin Ibrahimović, Ranko Krivokapić and Grlić-Radman."

"Unlike our staff who were promptly dismissed with the consent of the NSD, which took their positions, the DNP will not vote for Mandić's dismissal, although a simple calculation shows that our votes may determine whether he will continue to be the Speaker of the Parliament. At a time when the most brutal prosecutorial and political campaign is being waged against Bishop Metodije and Milan Kneževće, and when there is no declarative support from certain political entities, including the NSD, our parliamentary group will remain consistent and unwavering in its positions, and will never betray, even though we have been betrayed countless times," it was announced.

The DNP also says that regardless of the outcome of this initiative, it is clear to everyone in Montenegro that the parliamentary majority no longer exists:

"And that its integrity has been completely destroyed, and that Milojko Spajić's government is functioning on armchair infusions. We believed that the experiment of Dritan Abazović and his government, especially in the technical mandate, was unprecedented in the history of Montenegrin parliamentarism, but what is currently happening in Spajić's government has surpassed all possible mental and political acrobatics that many will be ashamed of at some point," the statement reads.
