The delegation of the Democratic People's Party (DNP), as part of its democratic offensive "Make Montenegro Great Again", during its presence at the Republican convention, met with Grover Norquist, a representative of the American conservative movement and president of the organization "Americans for Tax Reform", the DNP announced.
As they said, Grover Norquist has been one of the most recognizable names in the American conservative movement for decades, "especially in the areas of economic policy, tax cuts, limiting government spending and advocating for the free market."
"During the conversation, opinions were exchanged on the current political situation in Montenegro, as well as the importance of economic policies that encourage development, investment, entrepreneurship and greater economic freedom of citizens. The DNP delegation presented to Norqvist the political activities of the Democratic People's Party and its vision of Montenegro as a state of strong economic development, responsible public spending, support for domestic entrepreneurs and the creation of conditions so that citizens can live a quality life from their work," the DNP statement states.
As reported, the president of that party, Milan Knežević, particularly emphasized the importance of connecting political and economic ideas that share the same goal: a stronger and more prosperous economy, more opportunities for citizens, encouraging entrepreneurship, and creating a more efficient and responsible state.
"Van Orden also expressed special satisfaction with the arrival of the DNP delegation from Montenegro to the Republican Convention, and pointed out that he had been in Kotor this summer, emphasizing that he was delighted with the natural beauties of Montenegro and its citizens. The meeting with Grover Norquist is another significant step for the DNP within the democratic offensive 'Make Montenegro Great Again' and the continuation of the international connection of the Democratic People's Party with relevant representatives of American political and social life. It was agreed that contacts and communication would continue in the coming period, with the aim of exchanging experiences and deepening cooperation," it states.
