The season in Bar always started from Čanj and ended there. That is why we start our meetings and listening to the problems of citizens from here, Radomir Novaković Cakan, the holder of the Biram Bar list, said at the convention.
"I have a duty to tell the truth to the citizens of Bar and the citizens of Čanj. I am a businessman and I know how to run a company, so I would run the city that way. We have to put the right people in the right places. We have to give a chance to young people - who will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That's why there are so many young people on our list."
Emphasizing that the municipality of Bar must do more if it wants to compete with others on the Montenegrin coast in attracting tourists, Novaković emphasized that Čanj did not deserve what is happening to him now, especially when it comes to the cleanliness of the place.
Stevo Novaković from Čanj, who is on the list of Radomir Novaković Cakan - Biram Bar, and everyone else present agreed with this, emphasized that the biggest problem in Čanj is the overpumping sewage pumping station near Zec. This problem has been plaguing the tourism industry for years and it cannot be solved even though it only requires 15.000 euros. Referring to the garbage problem, he said that the new management of the municipality of Bar must think about the price of communal garbage collection depending on the activity.
Those present at the forum particularly highlighted the problem that is current during the tourist season - the lack of a doctor on call in Čanj.
"We had a doctor 10 years ago - now we don't have him anymore. A special problem arises in the summer season when ambulances travel a long time from Bar to Čanj due to the huge traffic on the highway. And the problem is easily solvable - we have an office. Tourist workers in Čanj are are ready to provide accommodation and transportation for that doctor. Tourists, especially those who come to Čanj with small children, do not want to go to Bar for the slightest trifle."
During the conversation with the citizens, which lasted for more than an hour, other problems in Čanj also crystallized - power outage in Čanj II, widening of the road at the turn from the highway, water shortages during August, inadequate lighting on the streets.
Concluding this meeting, Radomir Novaković Cakan said: "Our slogan can be expanded to read Biram Bar, and therefore I am also voting for Čanj. That is why I am not asking you to vote only for me. Vote for your man on the list - Steve Novaković. He will be the voice of tourism workers and citizens of Čanj in the Bar city assembly. 4 years is a long period and a lot can be done if we all make an effort. Therefore, if we want to move forward, we need new ideas and better solutions. An opportunity for you will have that on May 27, when you need to go to the polls and vote for the Biram Bar list.
