The ruling of the Administrative Court, which annulled the decision of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, on the basis of which Vanja Ćalović-Marković was dismissed from the position of a member of the Council of the Agency, only confirmed what the public has known for a long time, namely that Radonjić is a pawn of the DPS who is in office the director of the Agency was appointed in the capacity of a party henchman, and not as a man of knowledge and expertise, according to the press release of the spokeswoman for the Democrats, Anđela Peković.
Peković assessed that the judgment unequivocally showed that the Agency is not independent and independent in its work, and that it is not an institution that enforces the law with the aim of preventing and suppressing corruption and, accordingly, contributes to the democratization of Montenegrin society and the improvement of the rule of law, but an institution that "like an extended arm of the DPS, serves to deal with dissidents".
"According to the established pattern - anyone who expresses his position and opinion that contradicts the policy of the ruling party and who points out the illegalities committed by it is an enemy of the state who must be dealt with - Radonjić also started to deal with the Democrats, in this particular case, with Dr. Simić, who is a member of the Mojkovac municipal council. That's why we say this time too that we will fight with all permitted means against the criminals who carry out party orders through the institutions of the system, as is the case with ASK and DPS," said Peković.
As he claims against the "unprecedented campaign directed by the DPS", which was characterized by Radonjić's categorical claims about Vanja Ćalović Marković's alleged conflict of interest, the court verdict shows that the Agency headed by Radonjić violated the law on several occasions.
"This ruling of the Administrative Court is just one more in a series of evidence that in Montenegro there is a sign of equality between the ruling party and the institutions of the system, and that, on the other hand, we only have a declarative fight against corruption and organized crime. It is, without a doubt, one "one of the leading obstacles on our way is integration into the EU and an indication that the current government has neither the political will nor the staffing capacity to deal with this problem and introduce Montenegro into the community of European states," said Peković.
She assessed that the first step after the court verdict "which speaks of the lawlessness of the Agency" should be the dismissal of Radonjić from the post of director.
"It is clear that the Agency, as long as Radonjić is at its head, will not do anything to accept the European Commission's suggestions in the part that refers to detailed checks of public officials in detecting cases of high corruption, and in connection with that, cases of unjust enrichment, changes and transfer of property and determination of the origin of the property. The factual situation speaks of Radonjić's political bias and obedience, and as such, with the lack of necessary competences to lead a serious institution such as the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, he has neither the professional nor moral integrity to continue to lead the same man," concludes the statement of the spokeswoman for the Democrats.
