PATRIA: At one time, you warned that Serbia should move towards the West, and by no means towards Russia, whose old intelligence service (KGB) you said was to blame for the collapse of Yugoslavia. Today, Serbia is turning more and more to the east, buying Russian weapons, the media is rooting for Russia, while the authorities are at the same time signing agreements with NATO and opening the country's borders to it..
GRAHOVAC: On one issue, Serbia and Serbs should be analyzed as a positive phenomenon. Namely, in the free choice and free movement of citizens in the twentieth century, over 97% of them went to the area of Western European and North American civilization. This means that the civic consciousness of Serbs is directed towards the West. At the same time, political and church consciousness was directed towards Moscow. In such a social and political dislocation, it is difficult to stay sane. And yet, the majority of Serbs still remain committed to European values. It is an indication of the existence of their academic maturity and civic courage.
Aware of these facts, the bandits adjusted their policy - they talk loudly about European integration, while under that loud talk we have the occupation of natural and economic resources by Russian tycoons.
They took over this political strategy from the Montenegrin leadership led by Milo Đukanović. Milorad Dodik applies the same strategy.
The KGB played the main role in breaking up the SFRY, although some centers in the West were not averse to their role. I described in detail in my books how it was done and how the West was outsmarted in these affairs. Domestic bandits did all that operationally. It has been forgotten that the practical break-up of Yugoslavia began in Titograd on August 20, 1988 under Belgrade's direction. Those same putschists rule Montenegro undisputedly and autocratically for almost three decades.
However, it will come as a surprise to many citizens if I say that Serbia and Montenegro can contribute to the relaxation of relations in the northern hemisphere. Serbs and Montenegrins will always be in friendly relations with the Russian people. The membership of Serbia and Montenegro in the NATO alliance would for the first time lead to a relaxation of relations between Russia and members of the NATO alliance, and for the first time Russia would have at least two NATO member states as its true friends. I stand by the thesis that I have been emphasizing continuously for more than fifteen years, which is that without an American-European-Russian partnership on a new basis, the entire planet may be endangered. This thesis is starting to become more and more visible in a more concrete way.
PATRIA: In Bosnia and Herzegovina we have Milorad Dodik, a man who entered politics as a democrat, came to power with the help of the West, and then turned to Russia with open calls for secession and war. Today he is under sanctions for his inarticulate behavior. Isn't that decision in fact a message from the West that there must be no more war or tension here?
GRAHOVAC: It can be considered as such a message, but it also has its limited duration. We are waiting for other political and social entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to take action. Milorad Dodik is a clear and simple case to solve. He is a model belonging to the group of banditos as I described them earlier. But he is not that dangerous, because he is an open and read book.
Bakir Izetbegović is Dodik's generic, because if Izetbegović lasts politically for a long time, it is to be expected that even more energetic and politically uncultivated Dodiks will appear in the Serbian ethnos, and in the Croatian ethnos their Dodiks will be heard, who today secretly call Milorad Dodik the king. With his behavior, Milorad Dodik creates risks for Republika Srpska every day and causes discomfort to the Muslim-Bosniak corps, but the ideology and politics of Bakir Izetbegović is leading his ethnic corps to self-destruction. This is exactly the corps that in the SFRY belonged to the most civilized part of the Muslim world on the planet, and which the politics of Izetbegović and others like him today lead to cultural and civilizational monstrosity. The fear of Islamism produced by Izetbegović's policy is increasingly producing and strengthening numerous divisions in the region. Dodik and Izetbegović have a strong mutual synergy for their survival in power.
For years, I have been publicly emphasizing that for the recovery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is necessary to remove Bakir Izetbegović, Milorad Dodik and Fahrudin Radončić from politics. When they feel that it is going in that direction, they will start to get closer to each other. Of course, to save themselves, not BiH. Bosnia and Herzegovina will begin its recovery when the equal presence of Bosniaks-Muslims and Serbs and Croats is felt in Sarajevo and Mostar. I am not highlighting these two cities by chance. This will be the surest indicator that BiH is under the careful attention of both Croatia and Serbia. Bakir and others like him are not able to see this because of the passion they feel for some kind of Erdogan who is a pure copy of some kind of Dodik.
PATRIA: Montenegro became part of NATO. At one time, you were an adviser to Milo Đukanović and Ranko Krivokapić. Did they listen to you about NATO? How could it change the fate of Montenegro, but also the relations with Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina?
GRAHOVAC: When I joined Đukanović's cabinet in September 1999, I was persistent in three issues; first, a departure from the politics of crime represented by Slobodan Milošević; secondly, the establishment of an independent and internationally recognized state of Montenegro; and third, directing the state of Montenegro towards Euro-Atlantic integration. I am not commenting in which direction the state policy of Montenegro was directed until then, as well as how much I contributed to the changes in that policy. Something is very evident - through the institutions of the system, I led the fight against corruption and organized crime, against nepotism and party nepotism, and the fight for the rule of law and the rule of law. When my struggle in the institutions of the system did not yield the expected result, I continued it publicly, which is proven in the already published books. They contain an indictment against the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro and its leadership, from which they will not be able to defend themselves. For eleven years now, I have publicly qualified the DPS of Montenegro as a criminal, criminal and neo-fascist organization that should be banned. They don't react to it because I present the arguments for all that.
The duty of Ranko Krivokapić's advisor was something completely different, because there was coherence in the main issues of my activities.
Montenegro's membership in (I hope soon to be reformed) NATO will relax both intra-Montenegrin relations and relations in the region. It won't be well received in Serbia at the beginning, but it will soon be an inspiration for Serbia to go that way. It will be beneficial for the American-European-Russian partnership on the new basis that I talked about. It will also be beneficial for Montenegro's relations with neighboring countries.
