Parents who reject their children because of a different sexual orientation let them know that they are someone else for the rest of their lives, said Ljiljana Raičević, asking parents to support their gay sons and daughters.
In a video message on the occasion of the fourth Montenegrin Pride, which will be held on Saturday, she said that while working with vulnerable groups, she also encountered the problem of the LGBT population, which has great inconveniences in the family itself.
"I've always been amazed at how parents easily reject their children, not realizing that they are letting them know for a lifetime that they are someone else. They are not! They are just like us. Let them love each other, let them live their lives. Support them. Support your gay sons, daughters of lesbians, come to the Pride Parade! See you there," said Raičević.
Daliborka Uljarević believes, as she said, that an important part of shaping everyone as a person begins in the family environment.
"If that family environment is safe, it becomes our ban from what are the challenges we face, which threaten to break us, it is our warm corner in which we hide when we are most difficult and it also becomes our source of strength for important life decisions", believes Uljarević.
The beauty of our family lunch, as she stated, is reflected in the management in that measure of spices that only we like and that we understand each other.
"Just as the beauty of the balance of that family and the harmony that characterizes it is reflected in the acceptance of the diversity of all its members. "It's about you" is the message of this year's Human Rights Film Festival, because we want to say that all our rights are indivisible and that LGBT rights are fighting for all of us," Uljarević pointed out.
Vasko Raičević said that the intellect is what makes us human beings, judging that it is impossible to be an intellectual and a homophobe at the same time.
"If you are a homophobe, you reject a huge part of human culture, which was created by people who were of homosexual orientation, also a huge part of science, altogether a big and important part of human civilization. And finally, you reject your own intellect and reduce yourself to primitive existence, you cannot call yourself a man. And being a man, in fact, isn't that the foundation of family values?", believes Raičević.
As he said, he absolutely supports the organizers of Montengro Pride.
"There are still many battles ahead for human rights in this society, which is still backward, and if it means anything to them, I hope that I will be able to be in those ranks on their side when those important battles have to be fought," he pointed out. Raičević.
The campaign is part of the project "Contribution to the improvement of the quality of life of LGBT people in Montenegro", which began in January 2016 with the main goal of strengthening the role of civil society and human rights activists in the promotion of the human rights of LGBT people. The specific goal of the project is to contribute to the implementation of the legal and strategic framework in the field of human rights of LGBT persons. The project is implemented with the support of the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro.
The video campaign was supported by numerous celebrities from the civil sector, media and art, and in the coming days their messages of support for Montenegro Pride will be broadcast.
