The feasibility study with the conceptual solution for the East Stand of the City Stadium should, if everything goes according to plan, be completed by July 2017.

The study will be carried out by a consortium consisting of the Swiss companies CNB partners and HRS, selected by the donor of the study, "CREAM Montenegro PPP Alliance".

HRS company representative David Mizrahi, during the public presentation of the project, however, could not clearly specify when construction could begin and how long it would last.

"It is almost impossible to answer that question now. This process can be very fast, but it can also be stretched. Once the complete design processes are completed, we can start construction. The construction period, if everything goes well, can to last from two to two and a half years," Mizrahi pointed out.

Mizrahi said that after the preparation of the Study, which will last six months, there will be three more phases, before the construction itself, "which will not depend only on one participant in the project".

The deputy mayor of Podgorica, Časlav Vešović, did not want to say how much the project might cost, stating that this information will be known after the study is done.

Vešović said that the Study, which will be the basis for the international public tender, will also show whether it is necessary to make corrections to the Detailed Urban Plan (DUP) for the planned construction system.

"If it is necessary to change the DUP, that would mean extending the deadline for a few more months after receiving the Study," Vešović pointed out.

Answering a journalist's question whether this project will also suffer the fate of the one from 2010, when the construction of the eastern tribune was also promised, Vešović said that they did not want to link the plans from 2010 to this process, because then it was not signed contract.

"We would probably all be satisfied if that project was successfully completed and now ...we are talking about some other important sports or capital project in the capital city," Vešović said.

He assessed that HRS has a very complex task, because the construction of the eastern tribune should compensate for all the shortcomings of the current stadium.

As he said, the construction will be demanding in terms of traffic around the field and compensating for the shortcomings of the press box, VIP box and other facilities that the stadium does not have now.

Work on covering the pool is starting, new projects are expected

Vešović said that in November, thanks to a donation from the German Government, they received documents that represent the basis for signing a contract with KFE Bank, worth 35 million euros.

As he said, he will use this for the construction of a wastewater treatment system.

Vešović also said that work on covering the water polo pool, which is worth almost two million euros, will begin these days. He also announced that a public invitation, worth around four million euros, will soon be issued to convert the small hall of SC "Morača" into an area for indoor sports.
