Society for the protection of animals "Ruka-šapi" will file a criminal complaint against unknown persons, after two dogs were poisoned on Thursday on Tuška road in Podgorica, in front of the health building, across the railway line.
From that society, they state that they are sterilized owner females, who occasionally stayed near those buildings.
"Their owner lives across the railroad tracks, and they often came to the front of the building. They were calm, cute and did not attack anyone. One managed to get back to the yard of the owner's house, where it died. That's what our health workers do, they poison dogs. They also warned me several times that they will be poisoned if we don't remove them from there," Ratka Tanjević, a member of the "Ruka-šapi" society, told "Vijesti".
The residents of Block 5 recently launched a petition against throwing poison in front of the Split building in that Podgorica neighborhood.
Marko Strugar from that village, whose dog was poisoned during the summer, notes that not only animals are in danger, but that the opening can also be dangerous for children.
"Several dogs died not far from the kindergarten. The poison was spilled on the meadow between the school and the kindergarten, and children pass by there every day," Strugar told "Vijesta".
The association "Ruka-šapi" states that during the summer they had a meeting with police officers on the topic of poisoning, but that there are no results yet.
"A meeting was organized after submitting a complaint about dog poisoning in Block 5. We presented the inspector with over 50 pages of material on poisoning throughout Montenegro. He promised to talk to his superiors in order to launch a campaign on that topic," said Milica Đikanović from the organizations.
