This morning, an unknown perpetrator poured an undetermined amount of old cooking oil into the left branch of the Škurda River in Kotor.
The fat was carried by the river current, eventually ending up in the sea in the water area between the city park and Luža.
The Navigation Safety Inspection of the Port Authority of Kotor was informed about the incident, whose inspectors immediately went to the scene in an attempt to establish the cause and cause of the pollution.
Shortly before 10:XNUMX a.m., the Maritime Safety Administration of Montenegro was also informed, which immediately launched its response system to sea pollution.
"We sent the duty team and the special vessel EKO-1 to Kotor. They are on the spot and using dispersers and other technical means, they will do everything possible to collect grease from the sea and clean up the pollution," the director of the Maritime Administration told "Vijesta" of security, Safet Kočan.
