The dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FLU), Milena Jovićević, announced that Marija Marković's claims that she was discriminated against during the admissions competition and that the educational inspector's findings were based on "tendential and politicized constructions" were incorrect.
Responding to the text "Ties stronger than points and admission", published the day before yesterday, she said that "improvised and inaccurate information caused damage to FLU, the candidates and the administration" of that university unit.

"It is worrisome that a journalist from Vijesti, without basic knowledge of the facts, signs a text that is completely incorrect and that talks about serious topics in a 'said - said' manner. We inform the public that the Ministry of Education annulled the Decision of Education Inspector Radan Nikolić, Ruling (No. UP 2060-75/2016-3 dated 30.09.2016) due to incorrectly established factual situation and incorrect application of substantive law. Therefore, the Decision of the educational inspector Radan Nikolić ordering the repetition of supplementary exams was canceled as unfounded.
The annulment of the decision only indicates that our suspicion that these are tendentious and politicized constructions is justified.
However, before canceling the decision, the FLU Administration acted according to the decision of the educational inspector and reconsidered the evaluation of candidate Marković.
Candidate Marković in the repeated procedure received a unit with the explanation of the commission: "Candidate Marija Marković did not meet the basic criteria, which are implied in the assessment of the additional supplemental exam Drawing a figure from a model (Drawing). In its individual reports, the three-member commission emphasizes that the drawing is characterized by a lack of analyticality, an insufficient sense of proportion, insufficient artistry, a portrait that has no character in the drawing, uniform treatment of drapery and portrait, without a sense of materialization. For the reasons mentioned, each member of the commission rated the drawing of a figure according to the model (Drawing) with a grade of 1 (insufficient), which is of an eliminatory character. Therefore, it is not about an individual attitude, nor any form of discrimination, but about the value judgment of competent teachers, whose field of artistic creation it is. As with other art faculties, the work and artistic potential of candidates are evaluated, while in scientific fields the results are measurable. In both cases, however, everything is regulated by the Rulebook on conditions, criteria and enrollment procedures for undergraduate studies at the University of Montenegro.
Given that the daily newspaper Vijesti did not even publish the denial that FLU sent on 19.09.2016. regarding the first text published in Vijesti, it is clear that it refers unilaterally to the mentioned issue and that there is no need to establish the truth.
Since the improvised and inaccurate information has already caused damage to the Faculty of Fine Arts, the mentioned candidates for admission to the first year of study and the Faculty's administration, the dean of FLU will not open up space for the media for further manipulations and will not make further statements on this issue, but will seek legal satisfaction for the unfounded and tendentious accusations should be sought in the competent institutions".
