Members of the Dignitas network signed today the Agreement on cooperation between civil society organizations and other relevant entities that deal with the issues and problems of the elderly in Montenegro, with the aim of improving social care for the living conditions of that population.

The project partner is the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MRSS), and the work of the network is supported by the Institute for Social and Child Protection and the Ministry of Health, which also signed the Agreement.

The "Initiative for the Social Inclusion of the Elderly" is a regional project that is implemented in five countries of the region and which, in addition to the empowerment and inclusion of the elderly, provides an opportunity for civil society organizations to strengthen their capacities and to provide a stronger and better response to the needs of the elderly in the united forces. Director of the Directorate for Social and Child Protection in the Ministry of Social Affairs, Goran Kuševija, congratulated the elderly on October 1.

He stated that the Government and relevant ministries are ready to act in cooperation with civil society organizations to help the elderly.

The representative of the Association of Pensioners, Ranko Milošević, pointed out that the elderly and pensioners have a need for more active participation in society, in accordance with their abilities, and that it is necessary to organize various educational and other activities for them.

As stated in the announcement, greater involvement of the elderly and the implementation of activities, in accordance with their needs, will be enabled by the regional project called "Initiative for the Social Inclusion of the Elderly", which has been implemented by the CKCG since February this year and will last for three years, and whose goal is social inclusion of the elderly, as well as respect for their rights and improvement of the quality of life.

The project is financed from the funds of the European Union and, among other activities, includes the formation of a network of civil society organizations and other relevant subjects, which deal with providing support to the elderly population.

"In the past period, we managed to gather organizations that are experienced in this field in order to form a network and set strategic goals for the next period," said the CKCG.
