The National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG), in cooperation with NLB Bank, and with the support of the Ministry of Education, promoted the continuation of the Educational Program within the Project "Let's Work on Nature" in Biogradska Gora National Park.
On this occasion, about fifty students from the Elementary School "Boško Buha" from Pljevlje had the opportunity to learn about the natural values of the Biograd rainforest, visiting the Biograd lake and flipping through new educational booklets, together with teachers and educators of the National Parks of Montenegro.
"The main goal of the project "Let's process nature" is the inclusion of the youngest in the process of education about environmental protection, and education is very important, especially considering that national parks occupy 7.7 percent of the area of Montenegro. Education through such projects enables the youngest to learn about the importance of nature and to actively engage in the processes of its protection at an early age. Nature protection is the main function of the NPCG", stated the director of the NPCG Azra Vuković.
Through this project, around 450 children of the sixth grade of primary schools will have the opportunity to gain knowledge through workshops, interactive tasks and being in nature, not only in NP Biogradska gora, but also in other national parks.
"Acquiring and acquiring knowledge in nature is the best way to raise the ecological awareness of the youngest. It is to this population that we leave as a legacy what we managed to preserve, so that they would continue to preserve and valorize nature in the right way", said the director of NP Biogadska gora.
The National Parks of Montenegro and the project's partners, the Ministry of Education and NLB Bank, believe that staying and socializing in nature, visiting the educational trail and using worksheets will encourage students to expand their knowledge, independently research, develop creativity and teamwork, as well as to furthermore, they are practically ecologically effective.
