Yesterday, the Hunting Association of Montenegro presented certificates of thanks to the rescuers who rescued two tourists from Poland from the ravines of the Podlisinja canyons on the night between July 4 and 5.
At a special ceremony in the hunting company "Rumija", Barani Danko Smolović, manager of the hunting grounds Veselin Milić, Đoko Markolović and Tahir Metović received certificates of thanks, and the fifth member of the rescue team - Boris Gažević from Cetinje - could not come due to commitments.
"We thank the Hunting Association and their president Nikola Marković for not forgetting us. Two Poles from Krakow spent their summer in the 'Limunada' apartments in Vidikovac and that afternoon they just said they were going for a walk and went on a tour of Lisinje. The evening before, they called on the phone and asked us to send them the Mountain Rescue Service and a helicopter, because they got lost in the canyon above Bar," said Smolović, the owner of the apartment.
He immediately called the hunters and locals of Bartula for help, so, with the help of lamps and lasers, the five-member team set out in search.
On the other side of the canyon, the team of the Bar Protection Service went.
The search was literally looking for a needle in a haystack, because the canyon is difficult to pass.
Smolović says that soon it got dark, and the Poles' mobile phone batteries ran out.
"They gave us a GPS position, but it was only the Bartula point. When we finally found them, around one hour after midnight in the town of Crna četa, they were visibly traumatized and without water. For three days after this 'excursion', they did not leave the apartment".
When the Poles asked how they could repay the rescue, the hosts only told them to recommend their compatriots to rest in Montenegro.
