In the local community of Moćevac, graffiti insulting members of the Islamic faith appeared on the walls of some houses yesterday morning. Condemning such phenomena, the Bosniak Party called on the competent authorities to remove the graffiti and adequately sanction the authors.
"The Bosniak party will continue to react to all forms of discrimination in Pljevlja, with the aim of strengthening society in Pljevlja, and maintaining multi-ethnic harmony. In 2012, the Bosniak party also reacted to such phenomena, where the graffiti "Srebrenica wire knife" was written in the city center, which we thought put an end to the propagation of fascism and nationalism in Pljevlja. This morning's event does not support that. We remind you that at that time no political party of civic orientation reacted, nor any NGO that has human rights and the fight for them in its description", states the announcement of the Municipal Board of the Bosniak Party in Pljevlje.
Yesterday, the SNP of Pljevlja also condemned the graffiti written on the walls of houses in Moćevac and other parts of the city "which carry the spirit of hate speech and which never characterized the multi-ethnic harmony in Pljevlja".
"Such pre-election 'warming up' of the field smells like the tried-and-tested cuisine of the 'divide and rule' system that has afflicted and impoverished Montenegro in the last 25 years. We ask all citizens not to succumb to these provocations, and the 'up-to-date' city authorities to remove them as soon as possible", the SNP announced.
