The six-member Zlaticanin family from Sutomore started a strike yesterday in Podgorica, in front of the government.
Nedjeljko Zlaticanin told "Vijesta" that they will strike until the authorities fulfill their request for legalization of the house.
He pointed out that he, his wife and four minor children are afraid of the return of construction inspectors.
He says that he expects the authorities not to demolish the family house until March 1 next year, when the Law on Regularization and Legalization of Informal Buildings, which came into force yesterday, begins to be implemented.
In mid-June, the authorities failed to demolish part of Zlaticanin's house, because they were met on the terraces by a "living wall" of relatives and friends.
Last week, the roof collapsed, but the authorities gave up further demolition, because there were about 50 children in the house.
Yesterday, Zlaticanin repeated that he pays taxes for the house, that it is properly registered in the Bar cadastre and that they have urban planning and technical approvals from the municipal services.
The ground floor, he claims, was built nine years ago, and the upper floors were completed in 2014.
Zlaticanin said that there are more houses in their street that have not been legalized, but that inspectors only come to them with demolition decisions.
He pointed out that they do not intend to return to the family home and that the children will not go to school.
He also said that the request to postpone the demolition until March 1 next year was sent to the Director of the Directorate for Inspection Affairs Božidar Vuksanović and Prime Minister Milo Đukanović.
