The third "Days of the Diaspora" will be officially opened with a concert by Šaban Šaulić on the town square in Rozaje on Thursday at 20 p.m. According to the organizers' estimates, the event will gather between 10 and 15 thousand people, considering that guests are expected from Beran, Petnjica, Plav, Gusinje, Bijelo Polje and other Montenegrin and nearby Serbian towns.
"Diaspora Days" last a month, during which the Days of Mushrooms and Medicinal Plants will be organized, as well as numerous exhibitions of paintings, book promotions, theater performances, other cultural, sports and other events.
The director of the Cultural Center, Bećo Kojević, said that the event is held in August, because that's when the largest number of our displaced people are on vacation in their homeland.
"In addition to the promotion of our culture, customs and traditions, the event aims to gather and socialize, which often results in new business ideas. We wanted to bring together something that is beautiful, good and useful in one place. That our displaced people, through the programs, are also involved in their they feel that they are always welcome here, and that their investments, if they decide to, can be profitable here, and that they can always count on our wholehearted support," said Kujević.
The organizers of the event are the Center for Culture and the local Tourist Organization, with the financial support of the Municipality of Rožaje and the Bosnian National Council in Montenegro.
