The mayor of Budva, Srđa Popović, said yesterday that he did not remove the leader of the Budva Liberal Party, Blaž Rađenović, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Knowledge, but that his mandate had expired.
"Rađenović was appointed as a member of the Board of the Knowledge Academy on April 10, 2012, much earlier than he became the president of the Liberal Party, which is a coalition partner of DPS. The coalition agreement was concluded in September 2012. Therefore, the involvement of Rađenović at the time of his appointment as a member of the Supervisory Board could not have a political connotation, and his dismissal even less so. Namely, Rađenović's mandate expired on April 10, 2016, and thus by force of law it was necessary to dismiss both him and the other members of that Management Board, of which they were informed. As neither Radjenović nor his party showed interest in his further engagement, the Budva Municipal Assembly appointed new members of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Knowledge", writes Popović in his response.
