The president of the World Round Table (GRT), Gilbert Fajl, said that half of Europeans are unemployed and hungry, and "we bring refugees from all over the world, because we need cheap labor."
"The question is who should we turn to in order to warn him of the effects of this," Fajle asked yesterday at the International Conference on the Development and Impact of Technology on Today's Society.
The conference, which gathered over 60 world scientists and academics, was organized by the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU).
"The conference is dedicated to many issues related to the interaction of rapidly developed technologies with society. The answer is certainly not simple, obviously because we are still not used to living in a time where knowledge and technology, regardless of whether they were produced by humans or machines, are our future", CANU President Momir Đurović said at the opening of the conference.
Representatives of international academies and scientific organizations, many of whom were also honorary members of CANU, spoke at the opening.
The conference will continue today, and it is planned to hold six panel discussions on various topics important to society as a whole.
"I have no doubt that, knowing many of the participants at the conference, some topics that we still do not understand enough will be shed light on, among which there are many more than we have mentioned here," said Đurović.
