Members of the Dubrovnik Association of Anti-Fascists visited Herceg Novi, and were hosted by the Association of Fighters of NOR and anti-fascists Herceg Novi, representatives of the Association of Fighters 1941-45. and anti-fascists from Tivat and Kotor and Navy Commander Darko Vuković with his colleagues.
"After a 17-year break in relations, the president of the Association of Anti-Fascist Fighters of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Vesna Čulinović Konstantinović, and the president of the Association of NOR Fighters and Anti-Fascists of Montenegro, Andrija Nikolić, met in Dubrovnik on June 8, 2008 and agreed to continue cooperation on the foundations of good neighborliness and anti-fascism. During our meeting in Kotor last year, we talked about meeting in Herceg Novi this year, and we are extremely pleased that we have realized that plan. "This is the first time after 25 years that we come here in an organized manner. We know that our people from the Dubrovnik area like to come here and have fun, make friends, but we are doing organized visits to Herceg Novi for the first time after 25 years. Because there are rough events from the fall of 1991, led to the disappearance of both the image and the tone. Because Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik area suffered, because those attacks and aggression came from your area, and as it often unfortunately happens, those who whole areas are to blame for that. But honest people met in Dubrovnik, and we analyzed the situation. Attacks on Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik area were condemned, every war was condemned. As our Marin Držić said - "war, the destruction of human nature", said the secretary of the Dubrovnik Association of Anti-Fascists, Marinko Vlašić.
He pointed out that the cooperation between the Republic of Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia will continue "for the prosperity of both countries and the people who live in them, and the people of Dubrovnik and Novalja will continue to come and exchange visits".
Among the guests was Branko Grošeta, president of the Association of Associations of Anti-Fascist Fighters and Anti-Fascists of Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
The guests were given a tour of Tito's villa, after which anti-fascists from Dubrovnik and Herceg Novi laid flowers on the monument to fallen fighters on Savina.
Since 2008, when the cooperation between the Association and the Association of NOR fighters and anti-fascists of Montenegro was established, the people of Dubrovnik have visited Podgorica, Kolašin, Žabljak, Bar, Tivat, Kotor and Danilovgrad.
