Of the 4,2 million cubic meters of water that Budva's "Vodovod" receives from the Regional Water Supply, as much as half is spilled, said Rade Gregović, president of the Board of Directors of "Vodovod i Kanalizacija" Budva.
The calculation shows that the Budva company is losing almost one million euros, bearing in mind the new price of the Regional Water Supply of 39 cents per cubic meter of water.
Gregović said that the company maintains 250 kilometers of water supply system, 40 kilometers of waste water drainage system, 7,88 kilometers of underwater outlets, five pumping stations and four reservoirs.
Pointing out that a plan of priority measures of the work program has been drawn up, Gregović said that maintaining the system in good condition is one of the most important tasks.
"The most significant problem is certainly the reduction and detection of losses on the network, which directly affects the price of water. The estimate is that the losses are 60 percent, because we do not know exactly, it is difficult to measure it... For a serious result, money is needed. We will try to accurately detect the routes where the biggest losses are, to invest in pipeline replacements", he said, pointing out that the reduction of water losses would also affect the lower price of water.
He stated that in the future, "Vodovod" will pay two million euros per year for taking over water from the Regional Waterworks, which, due to the increase in the price per cubic meter, is 450.000 more than last year.
Acting executive director Jasmina Krstajić said that they employ 234 workers and that the average salary in that company is around 500 euros.
Suspect Medigović again proposed for executive director
The board of directors proposed Milenko Medigović, one of the suspects in the "TQ Plaza-Plato na Jazu" affair, as executive director again.
"Medigović, as the former director of this company, fulfills all the formal and legal requirements to be nominated as a director," said Gregović.
Consent to the appointment of Medigović will be given by the Assembly of the Municipality of Budva.
