The mayor of Tivat, Ivan Novosel, and the PR assistant of the company "Luštica Development" Dragana Bećirović, officially inaugurated today the first three so-called "smart bench", i.e. "smart solar benches" that were installed in Tivat.

The benches produced by the Croatian company "Include" are a gift from "Luštice Development" to Tivat, which, by installing them, became the first city in Montenegro to use this kind of state-of-the-art urban furniture.

The benches, for which nearly six thousand euros were allocated, were placed on the city's Pine waterfront near the Port Authority building and near the "Prova" restaurant, that is, on Magnolia Square in the city center.

"We in the Luštica Bay settlement are developing a completely new, eco-friendly community on the Adriatic and we are very happy when we can support the efforts of our closest environment in the application of energy-efficient and ecological solutions for the daily life of citizens. We believe that these benches will be useful for residents and tourists alike. who come to Tivat," said Bećirović.

Solar or so-called smart-benches have multiple purposes, they serve as urban furniture, a light fixture, a station for recharging mobile devices with electricity, and as a hotspot for wireless internet.

They are energy independent because they are constantly powered by electricity from photovoltaic cells in a 30-watt solar panel, located under the seating surface of the bench.

There are a total of four USB ports on the sides that can be recharged, mobile phones, tablets and laptops can be connected, and via bluetooth and wireless, the bench connects to these devices and serves as a hot-spot for free wireless internet.

"The bench contains a battery with a capacity of 32 amps which is powered by solar cells and which allows it to function under full load for up to 10 days without direct contact with sunlight. After "connecting" smartphones or laptops to the bench, through a special android application, you can also get detailed information about temperature and air quality, noise, etc., as well as graphs about the total energy that the bench produced from sunlight. is 400 times more durable and stronger than glass. This type of plastic, which is also used in the production of protective equipment for special police units, is very impact-resistant, so we are protected from vandalism or possible weather events with heavy hail." said the energy manager of the Municipality of Tivat, Petar Vujović.

He announced that the local administration will continue with the procurement of such modern urban furniture, which will be installed in other locations in the city.

Mayor Novosel said that the installation of "smart benches" is a step forward both in terms of energy efficiency and in equipping the city with modern urban furniture.

Thanking Luštica Development, he announced that the local government will invest a total of 400 euros in energy efficiency improvement and promotion projects this year, through budget and funds obtained from various tenders.

Novosel and the director of the legal sector "Luštice Development" Nebojša Popović today signed a special Protocol on sponsorship by which the company, through socially responsible business, will provide 150 thousand euros this year for financing various projects, organizations, institutions and events in Tivat.

Bećirović said that "Luštica Development" invested a total of 2010 thousand euros in social responsibility projects in Montenegro from 870 to today.
