Non-governmental organization Zinak started today with the implementation of the Correctly and concretely project, within which 16 psychological workshops will be organized for single mothers and children from single-parent families.

As announced by NGO Zinak, the project will last ten months, and the workshops will be led by psychologist Radmila Stupar Đurišić.

The executive director of Zinaka, Nikoleta Strugar, told the MINA agency that the aim of the workshops is to strengthen the personality of single mothers, increase their self-confidence and self-esteem, overcome stressful phases and provide instructions on how to adapt to new life circumstances.

According to her, the workshops for children will be in the form of group psychological sessions, adapted to the children's age, with an educational and entertaining part that will enable children to be more actively involved in the work of the group.

"Having in mind the special social, psychological and emotional state of children from single-parent families, often also the traumatic situations they went through when their parents divorced, domestic violence, the death of their parents and the like," explained Strugar.

As she said, workshops for children will be organized in children's playrooms or on trips that Zinak organizes as part of regular activities.

"The project foresees eight workshops each for mothers and for children, for a maximum of eight participants per workshop," specified Strugar.

She said that around 200 mostly single mothers have joined Zinak so far, and that there is great interest in participating in the workshops.

Strugar added that part of the workshops will be held with the support of the NGO Preventive Educational Center.

The Correctly and specifically project was financially supported by the Commission for the distribution of part of the income from games of chance with 2,3 thousand euros.

Strugar said that Zinak will continue the action of empowering support for single parents and their children, as well as multi-member families.

In the past 12 months, since it was founded, NGO Zinak has organized a large number of actions and activities involving more than 300 families and 800 children. In December, they also received an Iskra application form for their contribution to the common good in 2015.
