The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Zorica Kovačević, together with representatives of the Employers' Union, the Union of Free Trade Unions and the Union of Trade Unions, signed a joint statement condemning discrimination in the workplace on all grounds, including sexual orientation and gender identity.
The joint statement is another proof that the Government takes care of all its citizens, that it respects and protects human rights, including the rights of members of the LGBT community, according to the Ministry's announcement.
"We believe that preserving equality in the workplace is a guarantee of a stable society, and we will advocate that all persons have the same rights, regardless of differences," Kovačević said.
By condemning discrimination against all social groups, the minister said that human dignity is protected, and by developing policies and strategies, she promotes equality and supports the equal treatment of all residents.
"We strive to create a society in which every person will participate equally in every segment of social life, where tolerance and the absence of discrimination will become an asset of civilization, thereby promoting the democratic and European values that Montenegro cherishes in the process of joining the EU," emphasized Kovačević.
