The airport in Golubovci is open for traffic at 19:00.
The Montenegro Airlines flight, which was scheduled for 19.45:21, was moved to XNUMX:XNUMX.
After that, a second flight to the capital of Serbia is expected, with Air Serbia.
The central part of the Podgorica Airport runway has been cleaned and it is expected to be opened in a few hours, in order to realize two flights to Belgrade, said the company's spokeswoman, Milica Babić.
The airport in Podgorica was closed to traffic earlier today due to heavy snowfall.
"The central part of the runway is now completely cleaned, some parts remain to be cleaned. Antifreeze is being sprinkled, given that the temperature has dropped and that would not cause new problems," Babić said.
She said that all airlines have canceled flights except for Montenegro airlines to Belgrade and Air Serbia to Belgrade tonight.
"We hope that in the next hour or two the airport will be open, that the two flights will be realized," Babić added.
Podgorica woke up under snow this morning, and due to heavy rainfall, the airport in the capital was closed to traffic.
Flights to Ljubljana scheduled for 14:30, 16:35 and 17:30 have been cancelled. The plane that was supposed to land in Podgorica from Belgrade at 14:25 was diverted to Tivat.
"Vijesti" was previously informed by the PR service of the Airport of Montenegro (ACG) that the runway in Podgorica will be closed at least until 14 p.m.
ACG previously explained that the unfavorable weather conditions, i.e. low temperature, creates a slippery slope at the airport in Golubovci.
"All available teams are still on the ground with soldiers. Some flights are on hold, and some have been canceled (Munich, Rome, Ljubljana)".
"Teams of the Airport of Montenegro and the Army of Montenegro cleaned the runway and maneuvering areas during the night and morning, but heavy rainfall during the morning created a snow cover again, which prevents safe traffic," the airline announced this morning.
They say that all teams are still on the field and are doing everything to normalize traffic as soon as possible.
This morning, the flight on the Podgorica-Belgrade route, scheduled for 8:25 a.m., was cancelled.
